February's meeting had a great turnout for UCSD's Dr. Steven Erie and Vldmir Kogan presention with power-point about their new book, "Paradise Plundered: Fiscas Crisis and Governance Failures in San Diego." The well researched book is a must have for San Diego Democrats and many purchased their autographed copy after the presentation. As for me, I began reading it on my Kindle this morning.

MDC members who served as delegates at the recent California Democratic Convention included Eleanor Mang, Phyllis Mathis, Howard Wayne, Sally Guza and Suzie Ditmars. Michael Thomason served as one of the very busy volunteers and Newt Ferris attended as an observer. The speakers were inspiring, the caucus' well worth attending, and those who didn't attend the luncheon or dinner can still watch Senator Dianne Feinstein and Senator Al Franken on U-Tube.

MDC hopes to fill a table at SDCDP's Annual Roosevelt Dinner in April this year. Five of our members have already committed. This is alway an exciting opportunity to recognize those who have worked so diligently for the good of our Democratic Party. The Silent Auction is always fun, the food is yummy, the company is great, and the speakers are top notch. Please contact me at president@mesa.sddem.org if you wish to join us. Wouldn't it be great if we filled two tables?
